One third of our population is known to suffer from anxiety disorder at least once in a lifetime. And there are a number of causes of anxiety disorder which I would be listing here.
A major cause of panic disorder is heredity. A lot of people suffer from it not because of something external but because they come from a family background that is prone to it. But it’s important to note that many individuals without family records of anxiety disorders have been reported to suffer from it.
Since panic disorders are simply abnormal reactions to ordinary occurrences… it will be correct to identify phobia also as a major culprit. A man who has a phobia for heights may suddenly feel like vomiting at a 40th floor of a skyscraper. He may experience an increase in heartbeat… it is panic disorder due to phobia for height.
Anxiety disorders also occur as reaction to some drugs. There are specific drugs that have panic disorder as their side effects. For example, Ritalin… a common ADHD medication has it as a side effect.
Lack of vitamin B in the human system is also known to be responsible for panic disorders. Vitamin B is meant to regulate adrenaline flow in the system and if absent causes the body to make false reactions may develop into abnormal panics. The best way to treat this case is to eat diets rich in vitamin B. taking vitamin B as supplements may not offer a permanent anxiety disorder treatment.
Use of nicotine marijuana or cocaine may also cause short-term but violent panic attacks which may not be pleasant.
If you are suffering from any form of anxiety or panic disorder… the best step to take is to seek help from medical experts. Trying to suppress the problem or indulge in self medication is may worsen the situation.
An anxiety disorders when left untreated could develop into a chronic form that may keep an individual homebound and mentally destabilized for months or even years. Anxiety disorder treatments are best sought through prescriptions from medical personnel.
